Launched at the initiative of the Naval Museum of Quebec, this project aims to present a historical figure who has marked history at a specific location. By opening the door, the visitor will trigger a “temporal vortex” that will bring him in the past to meet the historical figure of the door. Thanks to a large touch screen, the visitor will be able to learn more about the history and impact that figure has had at this place.
What the visitor doesn’t know is that other doors of the same kind, which can be miles away from theirs, present other historical figures. By opening the doors, visitors can be put in touch at some point during the experience. They will be able to see and talk each other, but most of all, they will be invited to discuss the story of the historical figure of their respective doors.
The goal is to distribute new historical content, and especially to start dialogues between visitors who might be miles away from one another.
